This isn't just a light show, Christmas in the Square is a fun adventure for the whole family. With over 175,000 lights, 11.5 miles of wiring and 8 miles of cords, this is the largest choreographed holiday lights and music display in Texas. There will be many activities for the family to participate in the weekend of December 10-11 and December 17-18. These displays are located at Frisco Square.
Highland Park is bordered by the Tollway on the West, Preston on the East, Mockingbird on the North and Armstrong on the South. Your best bet is to start your light tour at Armstrong and Preston. This community is approximately 20 blocks long. They know how to decorate and show that they are one of the most prestigious areas around. The lights on Beverly, are a must see. Another light show with a large following each year is in Grand Prairie. Within two miles,Prairie Lights, has managed to use over four million lights proving to be one of the best shows around. Half way through your drive, you are able to get out of your car to play in their Holiday Village. Inside you can find Santa, concessions, lighted forest and a holiday magic theater. Prairie Lights is open daily until New Years Eve starting at 6pm every night. This show can be found at Lynn Creek Park.
Farmers Branch annual Christmas Tour of Lights is in full effect this year with over 300,000 twinkling lights. The tour starts at Valley View Lane and Interstate 35, just follow the the candy cane signs. Their Christmas tree lighting ceremony will take place on December 5th. You will be able to sneak in a visit with Santa and watch a fireworks show.
